When we look at the benefits of the vExpert program, it is logical that we look at the professional benefits first. After all, the program is mostly professional related. But what being a vExpert changed most to me is not the professional part, it is the personal part. The obvious benefit As with most people, I like to share information. This event is a great opportunity to get yourself updated on recent announcements shared by VMware but also users sharing their story with VMware technology. This year the agenda is packed with excellent topics. I’m really looking forward to all of them! 2 sessions I’m really looking forward too are underneath. Vanaf vandaag is het vExpert 2019 seizoen geopend en tot en met 8 februari om 9 uur ’s morgens kan je je kandidatuur indienen om vExpert 2019 benoemd te worden! De aankondiging over wie dan tenslotte de nieuwe vExperts in 2019 zijn, volgt dan ergens tussen eind februari en begin maart. Wat is het vExpert programma? Het vExpert-programma is het globale “advocacy” en “evangelisme” programma dat ontworpen is om de marketing middelen van VMware ter beschikking te stellen aan jullie.  Hiermee kunnen jullie makkelijker de goede boodschap van VMware kunnen verspreiden. It’s a wrap – VMworld 2018

The last 4 days were crazy. We had our yearly VMworld in Barcelona! I had a jam packed agenda starting monday morning at 10 am till today. We could summarize it to long days and short nights! This was my second VMworld since I started working at VMware and it was great! I would even say “the best VMworld I ever attended”. On Monday I got to Barcelona around 9am in the morning. Leaving Brussels Airport early for my first meeting at 10 am in beautiful Barcelona. I planned around 15 meetings in these 4 days and we talked about divers subjects. It’s been a wonderful but at the same time very long and tiring day for me today. The sessions attended have been awesome, the people around me have been ‘super’ but unfortunately, last Monday night, I had the excellent -ahum- idea, to only drink soda drinks. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep that well on the night from Monday going on Tuesday. Oh well.. I have learned from that mistake 🙂  . Why the vExpert PRO program is important

Over the last couple of days I have heard and have read a lot of negative feedback about the vExpert PRO program. I don’t really want to go in on this because people are entitled to voice their opinion and we don’t always have to agree on everything. Instead, let me tell you why I think this program is important and why I think it is an added value. Four years ago, blogging and public speaking were the last things on my mind. VEXPERT: Increasing the number of vExperts in Belgium and Luxembourg

 An excellent idea “Yes, that is an excellent idea!” was Tom’s reply when I asked him if he would mind if I would try to encourage more people to join the vExpert program in Belgium. Probably you don’t know, but there are only 14 VEXPERTS in BeLux (Belgium and Luxembourg combined). Not a big number. It is shocking that a similarly sized country such as the Netherlands manages to have 92 vExperts compared to 14 in BeLux!  We are convinced that the vExpert presence in Belgium and Luxembourg might increase if only people would see what the program can do for them and how good the vCommunity is to its family members.
