Stijn Depril is a pre-sales engineer at VMware for the BeNeLux area and is specialized in VMware VSAN.
He got to know everything related to data center technology at a distributor in Belgium. Back then he enabled a lot of partners around HP’s blade technology and the capabilities of VMware. In those days experiencing a VMotion demo for the first time, was mind-blowing! After his engagement at that distributor, he did more of that good old data center pre-sales work at Dell.
He continued to challenge himself and wanted to be part of a new way of looking at the data center, so he joined the rocket ship called VCE. Over there he was one of the first two pre-sales engineers in the BeNeLux region and was proudly representing the Vblock portfolio and its operational benefits.
When Stijn noticed that the hyper-converged tendencies were starting to rise, he immediately realized that hyper-converged was quickly becoming one of the basic building blocks in the data center. HCI wasn’t just bringing a new way to look at storage but was also bringing a lot of operational value on-site and somewhat later across clouds. So he decided to board the VMware train in 2017.
I have been enjoying to write for some time now. I still add to my own blog which is completely unrelated to VMware & data center technology, however lining up whatever crosses my path is what got me start writing blogs.Being at VMware I see a lot of great content being published every single day. However I do believe there is a place to tell my experiences with VSAN and VMware solutions “in the wild”.
