Veeam Restore Issue #VEEAM #BACKUPS #vEXPERT #VMware #vSphere

So recently I came across an issue where Veeam would restore from a backup and it would be marked as successful, but when you went to power the VM on it would fail with a CID mismatch (of course you can fix this manually by messing around in the vmdk files, but you shouldn’t need to do this). On closer inspection of the restored VM, you would see that the VEEAM RESTORE SNAPSHOT was still in place. So I went to my first VMUG recently and it was great! I met plenty of new people and learned a lot of new things. I got in a few discussions about monitoring and I mentioned that I was pretty fond of Sexigraf @Sexigraf_fr . I found it interesting that a few people had never heard of this great FREE product. Setting up a HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 and a EMC CX4-120

So we decided to re-provision some old storage kit we had lying around. We found that we had an old StorageWorks P2000 G3 and a EMC CX4-120. We decided to attach them to a HP DL380 G6 we had spare, and fit that server with 2x8Gb HBAs and 2xSAS cards. The HBAs to attach to the EMC and the SAS cards to attach to the HP. So I installed 2012 on the physical box, got it all up and running.
